16-Day Presidential Holiday Visit to Mar-a-Lago – Traffic Alert

An alert has been issued by the Federal Aviation Administration that warns pilots to avoid the airspace over Mar-a-Lago from Dec. 21 to Jan. 6.

Ocean Blvd. (A1A) will be road-blocked around Mar-a-Lago and there will be limited lanes of traffic over the Southern Blvd. bridge.

During the visit, all forms of travel, including pedestrian travel, will be prohibited on S. Ocean Blvd from the intersection of S. County Rd. to Southern Blvd. The travel restrictions will also extend eastward to the ocean. Only residents living between S. County and Woodbridge will be granted access to this restricted zone with proper identification.

Please take note of the temporary traffic patterns that will be in effect while the President is in Town.

If you are traveling South on S. County Rd. or S. Ocean Blvd: You will be redirected north at the intersection of S. County and S. Ocean. There will be traffic cones and barricades directing you back north.

If you are traveling East on Southern Blvd: You will only be allowed to exit south onto S. Ocean Blvd at the Southern Causeway.

If you are traveling North on S. Ocean Blvd: You will have to exit onto Westbound Southern Blvd at the Southern Causeway.

To avoid delays, if you are north of midtown, please use the Royal Park (Middle) Bridge and Flagler Memorial (North) Bridge. If you are south of midtown, use the Lake Worth Bridge to avoid the congestion around Mar-A-Lago. Please contact the Palm Beach Police Department if you have any questions at 561-838-5454.
