In 2002, Mr. Griffin and his partners established Citadel Securities, a preeminent global market maker. Over the past two decades, Citadel Securities has transformed global financial markets, making them more open, transparent and resilient.

Mr. Griffin is committed to addressing complex problems through data-driven, outcome-oriented civic leadership that increases access and opportunity. He has advanced a range of educational, cultural and civic causes and delivered lasting impact through more than $1.1 billion in giving to date. Mr. Griffin has funded significant initiatives with the Financial Aid Office at Harvard College, the Economics Department at the University of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and many other notable institutions. Mr. Griffin holds an A.B. in economics from Harvard College.
