The Breakers Golf Course Undergoing Complete Re-Design

R. Michael Brown, Communications Director, Palm Beach Civic Association  |  Our Town  |  May 17, 2018

Florida’s oldest eighteen hole course, over 100 years old, is located at the site of The Breakers resort and is undergoing a redesign.

Beautifully landscaped with manicured greens, the Ocean Course provides a constant test for golfers of all skill levels. Right now however, all the green is gone as the course has been stripped, and nothing is showing but the earthworks below.

After development of a Long Range Master Plan, The Breakers Ocean Course project is undergoing a comprehensive rebuilding of all the tee, green, and fairway bunker complexes in order to update the course to today’s standards with the focus on playability
and sustainability.

Rees Jones and Steve Weisser are the co-designers of the project and should be completed in December, 2018.  Stay tuned to the Civic Association News for updates.
