Study Finds Scripps Research Economic Impact Hits $3 Billion

Palm Beach Civic Association partner Scripps Research has been churning out impressive new findings on multiple medical fronts, from cancer and Muscular Dystrophy to ALS and Alzheimer’s, for the past 15 years. Now a new study measuring economic impact of the research facility in Jupiter finds that for every dollar invested, Scripps Research has returned $6 to the community in terms of new companies and jobs. According to Scripps Research Executive Vice President Douglas A. Bingham, “Our presence has seeded and attracted other local life science research and development companies.” Those would include the Max Plank Florida Institute, Beacon Pharmaceuticals and many more. Scripps Research has been a valued Sponsor of the Civic Association for the past 5 years, this year sponsoring our website.
