Westbound Okeechobee Boulevard near the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is experiencing lane closures due to a water main break.
There may only be two westbound lanes open to traffic for approximately one to two weeks, the Town of Palm Beach said in a news alert Thursday. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and consider alternative travel routes.
“This caused immense delays for commuters westbound on that road [on Thursday] all the way over the Royal Park (middle) Bridge,” Palm Beach Police Captain William Rothrock said Friday morning. “We just want to get the word out that afternoon traffic over the Flagler and Royal Park bridges is going to be worse than usual until those lanes are opened after the repair.”
