The Palm Beach Civic Association is saddened by the passing of Chairman Emeritus, Louis C. Pryor. Bob Wright, Chairman and CEO of the Palm Beach Civic Association stated “Louis was a visionary leader for our organization and our Town and paved the way for the Palm Beach Civic Association to be where we are today. We are deeply saddened by his loss and send our deepest condolences to Joanna and his family”.
As Chairman of the Palm Beach Civic Association in the late 1990’s, Mr. Pryor’s main interests and concerns were severe beach erosion, the Town’s employee salary and benefits package and the overall need for a widely supported long term vision for the town. The Association created the Beach Restoration Committee, most of whose members were later appointed to the first Shore Protection Board when the Town Council took over the leadership role on that issue. Also, the Council and Town staff drew up and disseminated the Town’s long-term Strategic Plan and adopted the “Pay for Performance” merit related remuneration system.
“Louis Pryor was a legendary leader for the Palm Beach Civic Association and our community. His kind spirit and clear focus on key issues impacting our Town formed a foundation for those who have followed in his footsteps. He will be missed greatly and remembered always”, shared Mary Robosson, Palm Beach Civic Association President.
