Flagler Bridge Taken Over by FDOT

R. Michael Brown  |  Transportation & Bridge Alert  |  October 16, 2018

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) took over the Flagler Memorial Bridge from the contractor on October 4 because it had gone 60 days without a malfunction.

On Saturday, the Palm Beach Police reported that the drawbridge malfunctioned around 2:50 p.m., closing for several hours. By 5 p.m. the bridge reopened.

The source of the problem was not immediately known.

FDOT is now fully responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of the bridge.
