Watch in under two minutes, the progress made over the last two years, on the reconstruction of Palm Beach Fire-Rescue’s station number two.
Our “eye in the sky,” videographer/editor Philip Baldwin, has documented the project using a drone since work began on the island’s three-story station in August 2022.
Built in 1927, the building is one of the oldest still-operational firehouses in the state. It was landmarked in 1988.
Palm Beach Fire Rescue’s Assistant Fire Chief tells Palm Beach TV that the project is staying on schedule.
Joseph Sekula says, “The structural components and modifications have been completed and the mechanical, electrical and water systems continue to be worked on. We expect the transition back into our station to start in November 2024, which will allow us to then start testing all of the equipment and emergency services. This will more than likely continue to the end of the year.”
