COVID-19 VACCINATION SCHEDULING FOR 2ND DOSES

  • All individuals who received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination through the Town’s Fire-Rescue Department should have been contacted via email by now, with their scheduled date, time, and location for their second vaccination.
  • If you have not received an appointment for your second dose, please email us ASAP at questions@townofpalmbeach.com to advise us so we may reach out to you with details.

SPECIAL COVID-19 ALERT: ADDITIONS TO VACCINATION WAITING LIST ON PAUSE

  • Effective today, new submissions to the Town’s Covid-19 Vaccination Waiting List will be temporarily paused to allow Town staff to finish scrubbing the list to eliminate ineligible submissions. Additions to the list will resume at a later date.
  • There are approximately 3,100 eligible Town residents currently on the waiting list. Each resident who submitted their information is “in line” based on their date and time-stamped submission.
  • As advised earlier this week, when the waiting list program was launched on January 13, we incorrectly advised registrants that they would receive their “number in line” with their confirmation email. Instead, registrants received a submission “batch number”, which is not reflective of their actual place in line.
  • Over the next several days, the Town will be reaching out, via email, to residents on the waiting list to advise them of their current place in line. (It is important to note that the number provided will be the worst-case number, as many residents are pursuing vaccinations from other sources and will eventually drop off our list.)
  • Unfortunately, we do not know if and when we will receive more vaccines, but we will continue to pursue the county and state and will contact registered residents next in line once more appointments are available.
  • Because we cannot guarantee the delivery of additional vaccine supply, residents are encouraged to check with their private medical providers for other options. Residents are also encouraged to seek appointments through:

o Palm Beach County Healthcare District (https://www.hcdpbc.org/). Please note that the Health Department is not currently taking additional appointment requests at this time. They are only scheduling appointments for those who are already on their waiting list.
o Publix Pharmacies (https://www.publix.com/covid-vaccine/florida)
o Baptist Health (https://baptisthealth.net/coronavirus/vaccine)
o Tenet (https://palmbeachhealthnetwork.com/)
o HCA (https://hcaeastflorida.com/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information/)
o VA Medical Center (561-422-6838 – veterans only)

NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVEL FROM ABROAD

  • To reduce the introduction and spread of new variants of SARS-CoV-2, the CDC issued a new air travel order, which will become effective, January 26, 2021.
  • All air passengers arriving to the United States from a foreign country will be REQUIRED to get tested for COVID-19 infection no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.
  • This requirement will apply to foreign nationals, as well as US citizens and permanent residents.

HELP US SLOW THE SPREAD

  • While waiting for the vaccines to reach everyone, the CDC is reminding us that the three most important ways to slow the spread and buy us a little more time include: (1) wearing a mask to protect yourself and others and stop the spread of COVID-19, (2) staying at least 6 feet away from others who don’t live with you and avoid crowds, and (3) washing your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • It is also extremely important to STAY HOME and isolate yourself from others if you are not feeling well. Do not socialize, go out for meals, go to work, or participate in recreational activities if you are feeling sick. You should not assume it is allergies or a common cold. Be smart. Be safe. And protect your loved ones and neighbors.
