Mr. Meyer has been a resident of Palm Beach since 1978. Following his graduation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the London School of Economics and Georgetown Law School, he became a member of the New York and Florida Bars and a specialist in real property law with a New York City law firm. He later graduated from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Meyer is Chairman of Meyer Jabara Hotels, with offices in Danbury, CT and West Palm Beach, FL. Its hotel portfolio includes 42 hotels with more than 5,800 rooms in 17 states, operated by Meyer Jabara Hotels under licenses from Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt and Choice.
Mr. Meyer was previously the Chairman of CRSA Holdings, which provided management, development and marketing services to 20 continuing-care retirement communities, including Devonshire at PGA National. The real estate projects he has developed in Palm Beach County include two office buildings, two hotels, three shopping centers, two residential condominiums and more than 2,000 acres of raw land.
Mr. Meyer is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of JFK Medical Center and Chairman Emeritus of the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts. He is presently Chairman of the Quantum Foundation. He serves as a member of the Operations, Development, Investment and Finance Committees of the Kravis Center. He is also a member of the investment committees of the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and the United Way of Palm Beach. He is the past chairman of the Jewish Community Foundation and co-founded and was the first philanthropist-investor in Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank. He also serves as a board member of the West Palm Beach Police Fund, the Palm Beach United Way and the Cox Science Center and Aquarium.
He served on the board of overseers of the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania for 14 years. Mr. Meyer is an avid golfer and car owner and has two grown children.
