Robin Senior has been involved in her parish and community all of her life. She has served on the Women in Church Leadership Advisory Board for FutureChurch. FutureChurch seeks changes that will provide all Roman Catholics the opportunity to participate fully in Church life and leadership. She has served on the board of Brooks School in Andover, MA and was President of the Board of East Woods School in Oyster Bay, NY where she founded Yellow Cote Players, a small community theater. She also served on her Village Board and as President of the Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay-East Norwich, a social services organization on Long Island. More recently, she volunteered as an ESL teacher at DePorres Place Adult Literacy Center in West Palm Beach. Presently she is a Hospice volunteer with Vitas Healthcare of West Palm Beach.
Mrs. Senior, an alumna of the Oldfields School, attended the University of California at Santa Barbara for two years and graduated from the Esmod Guerre-Lavigne School of Fashion Design in Paris. She was the buyer of the junior coat and suit department at Bonwit Teller in New York. Later she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Long Island University, C. W. Post campus and a Master of Arts in Theology from The Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY. She then became an instructor in one of the Adult Formation Programs for the Diocese of Rockville Center.
Robin Senior is the daughter of Fern Tailer de Narvaez of Oyster Bay and Palm Beach and the late David Alva Gimbel. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F. Gimbel – the former Board Chairman of Gimbel Brothers – of New York, Greenwich, CT, and Palm Beach and of Thomas Suffern Tailer, the sportsman, of Southampton, NY, and Palm Beach, and Mrs. Stanley Martineau of Washington Depot, CT, and Palm Beach. She is a great-great-granddaughter of the late George F. Baker, co-founder of First National Bank of the City of New York, and of Adam Gimbel, founder of the Gimbel Brothers Company.
Robin’s family has enjoyed being in Palm Beach since 1984. Robin and her husband Enrique love spending time with their four adult daughters and five grandchildren who visit often.
