Reuben Jeffery III is currently Chairman of Sumitomo Mitsui Americas Holdings, Inc; and serves on the Boards of PartnerRe Ltd., and Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Rockefeller & Co.
From 2002-2009 Reuben held various positions in the US Government including as Senior Director on the Staff of the National Security Council, Chairman of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission and as Undersecretary of State for Economics, Energy and Agricultural Affairs.
Previously he spent 18 years at Goldmans, Sachs & Co. in New York, London, and Paris. He began his career as a lawyer at David Polk & Wardwell. Reuben is a director of the Financial Service Volunteer Corps and of the French American Foundation and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a recipient of the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service and of the Secretary of State Distinguished Service Award. He is a graduate of Yale College and received a J.D./M.B.A. from Stanford.
He and his wife Robin have resided in Palm Beach since 2018.
