Michael Reiter

Director

Mr. Reiter has served as a Civic Association Director since 2013 and member of the Executive Committee since 2024. He is the President of Michael Reiter and Associates, a Palm Beach based security and investigative firm providing global protection and advice for individuals and organizations. After more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, Mr. Reiter retired as the eighth Chief of Police for the Town of Palm Beach. He was the founder of Palm Beach Citizens and Teen Police Academies and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).

He is an expert in crisis management and the prevention and investigation of crimes against affluent individuals. Mr. Reiter served on the executive board of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum Leadership Council. He earned an MS from Palm Beach Atlantic University, a BA from Florida Atlantic University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Harvard Kennedy School Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. Mr. Reiter received the Palm Beach Civic Association Raymond J. Kunkel Award, Town of Palm Beach Employee of the Year Award, Worth Avenue Association Above and Beyond Award and the Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach Atlantic University Distinguished Alumni Awards. Mr. Reiter recently served on the Town of Palm Beach Strategic Planning Board. He and his wife, Janet, reside in Palm Beach.
