Mr. Robbins is a private investor who, during his business career, was the Chief Executive Officer of 3 public closed-end investment companies, a director and officer of numerous public and private companies and charitable foundations, and the general partner of several investment partnerships. He was also Of Counsel with the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom for 50 years. He was a trustee of Columbia University, chairman of the trustees’ audit committee, and a member of the executive, finance and investment committees and is currently university trustee emeritus. Mr. Robbins was an officer, director and member of the executive committee of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, a member, and chairman, of its investment committee and a member of its management and financial oversight committee. He was also a trustee and a member of the investment committee of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and a trustee of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and the Palm Beach United Way. Mr. Robbins received his BA degree from Columbia College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded at graduation prizes in political science and the humanities. He received his JD degree from Columbia Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review. He and his wife, Beverly, have three children, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, and they have had residencies in Palm Beach for 40 years. They also resided in Manhattan and Greenwich.
