Mr. Duffy is the retired founder and chairman of Duffy & Shanley, Inc., a public relations/marketing firm in Providence, RI, serving national and regional clients. His early career included positions as newspaper reporter, US Army officer, and publicist with General Electric. Active in politics and government affairs, he served as a special assistant in the office of the US Secretary of Transportation and counsel to numerous election campaigns, and he worked on many special projects worldwide for NY Govenor and US Vice President Nelson A. Rockefeller. Mr. Duffy is a past national chair of the National Conference of Christians and Jews (NCCJ). He has also chaired the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, and served eight years as chair of the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority. He is a 1961 graduate of Providence College, which awarded him an honorary degree in 2011. He is past vice chair of the college’s board of trustees. He and his wife, Heidi, reside in Palm Beach and North Kingstown, RI.
