Directors in Action: Nancy Brinker Takes On A New Challenge

Palm Beach Civic Association Director and Healthcare Committee member, Nancy Brinker has identified a new area of need she will now apply her seemingly tireless energy toward. At a recent event with our new Corporate partner Baptist Health, Ms. Brinker shared her vision for her most recent effort, The Promise Fund.

Most of us know Nancy Brinker for her years of dedicated work, through her Komen Foundation, to educate and support women and their caregivers facing the challenges of breast cancer. But Brinker has now expanded that effort by creating The Promise Fund, which aims to deliver education and access to medical services for women with breast and cervical cancers. The Fund would assist women who have encountered social and economic barriers to healthcare. Nancy Brinker first forged her path of breast cancer awareness after serving as her sister’s caregiver for four years, before she, Susan Komen, died at the age of 36.
