DeSantis moves most of state into Phase 2 reopening but not Palm Beach County

As Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that most of Florida could move into the next phase of reopening, Palm Beach County saw its biggest spike in confirmed coronavirus cases, with 258 new cases reported by the Florida Department of Health.

The governor’s announcement of Phase 2 would apply to 64 counties but not Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, which account for 55 percent of the state’s coronavirus infections.
