Executive Committee Statement on School Violence
February 28, 2018

The Palm Beach Civic Association Executive Committee is deeply concerned about the recent shootings of children and other innocents in South Florida and our nation. We condemn these senseless acts of violence and urge our elected officials to take action to ensure the safety of our citizens. We believe:

  • Immediate steps must be taken to keep unauthorized weapons out of schools, and weapons out of the hands of the mentally disturbed.
  • Children and parents must know their schools are safe and secure.
  • Politicians must listen to the brave voices of our students demanding changes to protect them.

Together, we must confront the tragic disregard for human life that is so prevalent in our society today. As Americans, we must unite to defeat this threat to our common welfare.
