Breaking News: Bobbie Lindsay announces retirement from Town Council

Bobbie Lindsay announced Wednesday she will not seek another term on the Town Council in the March 10, 2026, municipal election.

Lindsay is a North End resident serving her tenth year in the Group 2 seat after being elected to 5 two-year terms without ever facing opposition. Her current term expires in April.

Lindsay said in a press release that she is grateful for the Palm Beach community’s trust and support.

“I’ve had the very good fortune to have run for this office five terms unopposed; a delightful surprise that constantly reinforced my determination to help deliver the kind of effective policy-making that my hometown deserves,” Lindsay said in the release. “I so appreciate the collaboration with my dedicated colleagues on the desk, our able town staff, and my engaged constituents. Thank you!”

Lindsay was named council president by her colleagues last year and again this year.

She said it has been a pleasure and a challenge to serve the town, and that she is proud of all that has been accomplished by working together.

“Good government is never completed,” she said. “It is an ongoing incremental process that, if effective, delivers Palm Beach taxpayers the health, safety and quality of life they desire and expect.”

As of Wednesday morning, no one had filed candidacy papers with the Palm Beach town clerk’s office to run for the Group 2 council seat.

In her release, however, Lindsay stated that North End resident Nicki McDonald will run for the Group 2 seat, and she “whole-heartedly” endorses McDonald.

Lindsay called McDonald “a highly qualified, accomplished individual who, in my opinion, is ready to ably serve our town residents on the council.”

McDonald is a member of the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission and served on the town’s underground utilities task force.

McDonald told the Civic Association that she will file candidacy papers with the town clerk’s office and announce her candidacy this afternoon.

McDonald has been a Civic Association director since 2019.

The Civic Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It does not endorse political candidates.
