Previously chairman of Allied London Properties PLC, chairman of Sterling Homes and other House Building companies. Former Trustee and Commissioner of US – UK Fulbright Commission, Chairman of The Fulbright International Advisory Board. A Trustee of Margaret Thatcher Foundation and Founder of Margaret Thatcher Center at Oxford University, Friends of The British Library. Appointed to many UK Government Bodies dealing with Health, Education, Land use and the Arts. Founder Children’s Hospital at St Mary’s Hospital London. Member Chancellors Court, Oxford University. Foundation Fellow Somerville College Oxford, Honorary Fellow Emmanuel College Cambridge. A Treasurer of The Conservative Party, Chairman or Treasurer of various Charities in the UK. Knighted in 1990 for Services to the United Kingdom in the fields of Education, Health, Philanthropy and Politics. Freeman City of London. Member Haberdashers, and Furniture Makers Livery Companies. Member American University International Advisory Board. Educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, London and the University of Michigan. Member of The Pilgrims US and UK, St. George’s Society, New York, Society of The Four Arts, Palm Beach Ocean Club, Royal Automobile Club, Carlton Club, United and Cecil Club.
