Richard grew up in Briarcliff Manor, NY. He attended Bucknell University and graduated in 1978 with a BA in Economics. He met his wife Barbara in 1980 and they have been married for 40 years. They have two married grown children, David and Robert, and three young grandchildren, Leo, Charlotte and Jude.
Barbara and Richard both had grandparents living in Palm Beach and have been visiting since they were young children. They moved here full-time and became residents in 2014.
Richard is involved in several organizations in Palm Beach. He is currently a board member and campaign chair of Town of Palm Beach United Way. He also serves on the boards of Morse Life, Hebrew University and Israel Tennis Centers.
Mr. Rothschild’s hobbies include tennis, travel and contemporary art collecting. He has also been a long-time member and board member of the Palm Beach Country Club and has chaired the house and tennis committees.
