Dr. Kafrissen, MD MSPH has served on the Civic Association’s Health Care Committee since 2019. Among his current roles are leadership of the private consulting organization, STE Health International, LLC, research physician at MIT, Adjunct Professor in UNC’s Gillings School of Public Health.
His academic appointments included Adjunct Professorships at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Rutgers School of Pharmacy. He was a Medical Epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and worked on issues ranging from pregnancy-related mortality to Vietnam Combat. Additionally he served as a board member of the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education and a member of the Center for Disease Control Foundation Corporate Roundtable.
Prior to moving to Palm Beach, Dr. Kafrissen worked with a number of Johnson & Johnson companies in pharmaceutical development becoming company head of Ortho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs and a member of the North American Pharmaceutical Board. His continuing research interests include geriatrics, pharmacoepidemiology, clinical trial design and development of technical professionals. He is author of numerous articles book chapters and originator of clinically-related patents.
