Mrs. Zeidman served on the Palm Beach Town Council from 2016-2024 and as President of the Council from 2020-2024. During her tenure she helped lead the Town through the Coronavirus Pandemic, served as an advocate to strengthen public safety, lead a compensation study which reduced general staff and public safety turnover and was a strong proponent of reducing the retirement fund deficits. She chaired Tax & Finance and Public Safety during her eight years on Council. She attributes the town’s low mortality during the pandemic to the support of town leaders, the PBCA’s communication team and the engagement of the town’s residents.
Mrs. Zeidman is a retired registered nurse and is board certified in the specialty of Critical Care Nursing. She was the Director of Nursing at Lenox Hill Hospital, NYC from 1990-97 and was responsible for patient care standards and operations for Cardiovascular, Critical Care and Surgical Services. After moving to Palm Beach in 1997, she continued to provide quality improvement consultation to Cardiac Surgical Programs in New York State.
She graduated from Saint Joseph’s Hospital/ University of Maryland and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She earned a BSN and later finished postgraduate work in Cardiovascular Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Miami where she graduated with honors. Mrs. Zeidman is known for developing the post graduate course which set a new standard of practice for nurses caring for critically ill patients. She has been published in nursing textbooks, was a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Nursing and was frequently on the lecture circuit for The American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She was awarded the Distinguished Leadership Award by the University of Miami and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Mrs. Zeidman is a member of the PBCA Health Care Committee, and a trustee of the Preservation Foundation where she serves as a member of the Executive Committee. She is Vice Chair of The Palm Beach Fellowship of Christians & Jews and is a member of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. She is a member of The Police and Fire Foundation Council of 100 and has served on the Corporate Board of The Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County.
Mrs. Zeidman has been married to Mark for 46 years. Mark serves on The PBCA Executive Committee. They have two married children and six grandchildren, all of whom reside in the Boston area.
