Leonard has more than 50 years of experience in international private equity, real estate finance and development, and investment banking. He co-founded Castle Harlan, Inc, a middle market private equity firm, co-founded CHAMP, the Castle Harlan private equity affiliate in Australia where he and his wife lived part time for almost 20 years. He previously founded The Harlan Company, which engaged in real estate finance and development. Leonard is currently co-founder and partner with his son Josh the managing partner of Harlan Capital Partners here in Palm Beach.
He received his BME in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with distinction, as well as a Doctorate from Harvard Business School.
Leonard is a life member of the Board of Fellows of the Weill Cornell Medical College and co-founder and co-chair of the Weill Cornell Medicine Dean’s Council. He has been a long-time member of both the board of Harvard Business School Club of New York, Business Executives for National Security (BENS), and board member of Voice Health Institute in Boston. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Board of the Palm Beach Chapter.
For over 20 years he and his wife Fleur have lived in the Vicarage, the third oldest house in Palm Beach and the first to be Landmarked.
