Janne H. Rumbough

Janne Rumbough was born in Denmark and has been a resident of Palm Beach for over 45 years. A philanthropist and community advocate, she served on the board of the Palm Beach Follies which raised funds for the original Palm Beach recreation center, on the boards of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and as Gala chair (2000) and co-chair (1999) for the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Janne began riding horses at age 11. She is a fixture in the Wellington equestrian community as a founder of the dressage circuit decades ago, and founder of the Global Dressage Festival. She currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the US Equestrian Foundation, and is President of the U.S.P.R.E. (Pure Spanish Horse) Association. She competes as an amateur, at the highest level of dressage – the Grand Prix. In 2018 she won the Grand Prix Freestyle Adult Amateur National Championship for a second time. In 2016 she was the inaugural recipient of the US Dressage Foundation Member of Distinction Award. This award is given to one USDF member who has “demonstrated exceptional commitment to his or her local area or region.” Her farm, MTICA, which stands for ‘More Than I Can Afford’, was named by her late husband Stanley M. Rumbough, Jr. Stan served the Palm Beach Civic Association as a Director for over 40 years, as its co-chairman for 10 years and CEO from 2005 to 2009. Upon his passing in 2017, Janne and the Rumbough family endowed the Civic Association’s Stanley M. Rumbough Jr. Legacy Society with a gift of one million dollars.
