Gerald R. Jordan Jr. graduated from Harvard College. Following four years of service as a lieutenant in the US Navy, he graduated from the Harvard Business School and began his investment career as a security analyst at Putnam Management Company. As a senior vice president, he managed Putnam’s Vista, Equities, Voyager, and Option Income mutual funds. In 1978 he founded Hellman, Jordan Management Company and serves as chairman with principal responsibility for market strategy and the firms’ limited partnerships. Mr. Jordan is a former overseer of Harvard University; he serves on committees for athletics, financial aid, and university resources and on the Dean’s Committee of the Faculty of Art and Sciences. He is on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors, a member of Massachusetts General Hospital President’s Council, overseer of Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, and trustee of Belmont Hill School and the Museum of Fine Arts. His philanthropic activities include endowing the Harvard Medical School Professorship in Stem Cell Research, the Stem Cell Chair at Massachusetts General Hospital, and 100 Harvard College scholarships, as well as Jordan Field at Harvard; Jordan Boys & Girls Club, Chelsea, MA; and Jordan Athletic Center, Belmont Hill School. Mr. Jordan is married and has three children.
