Mrs. Liman, a painter, writer and Palm Beach resident, owned the Liman Gallery Palm Beach for 19 years and is now a co-founder of The Palm Beach Art Collection.com, on the Artsy Platform. She maintains a painting studio in West Palm Beach. In New York City, under Mayors Koch and Dinkins, she was executive director then a member of the NYC Advisory Commission for Cultural Affairs, and served as its chair (1991-93). She was a founding trustee of the International Center of Photography, a member of the Mayor’s Committee for New York City, appointed by Mayor Bloomberg, a past board member of many NYC cultural organizations, and is currently a life trustee of the Jewish Museum. Ellen Liman is a board member of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation, and a former director of the Town of Palm Beach United Way and South Florida PBS. She is a member of The Society of the Four Arts, the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, and a supporter of local cultural organizations including the Palm Beach Cultural Council. Mrs. Liman is the author of seven books on interior design and collecting, received a BA in art history from Barnard College and is president of the Liman Foundation. Her late husband was Arthur L. Liman.
