Dr. Dennis is currently active and founding chairman of FAU’s College of Medicine board, former trustee of Florida Atlantic University, President Emeritus of Palm Beach County Medical Society Services Board, annual Chairman of the Future of Medicine Summit, secretary of Florida’s Institute for Health Innovation, weekly contributor to the Sun Sentinel’s Influential South Florida 100, and Chairman of the Promise Fund of Florida Board whose mission is to eradicate breast and cervical cancer. He received his BA from Harvard and MD from UF (AOA Honorary Society) with extensive externships at Guy’s Hospital (London) and Johns Hopkins. During his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Stanford, he created a Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant program, receiving recognition from President Reagan, who appointed him to the Health Manpower Commission and Medical Practice Act Committee. He was commander of the 416th Medical Service Flight (USAF) during the Vietnam conflict and senior warden of the St. Mary/St. Jude Maine parish. He chaired the Town’s Medical Care Commission and founded the Medical Education Forum of the Palm Beaches, which provides the Regional Medical Care Guide every 5 years to the community. In 2006-08 he was vice chairman of the Civic Association. He spent 27 years traveling overseas to provide pro bono repair of congenital defects. Married 56 years, he and Phyllis have three children and a wonderful extended family.
