Dave Porges is an energy industry executive who, along with his wife and daughters, relocated to Palm Beach in 2017, after having spent much time here during the prior five years. He was born in Chicago, and earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and M.B.A from Stanford University. He then entered the energy industry, working for Exxon (Houston, Sydney, Melbourne), Bankers Trust (New York, Houston) and then EQT Corporation in Pittsburgh, a natural gas production and transmission company where he became Chairman and CEO until retiring in 2017. He retains his involvement in the energy industry via his position on the Board of Directors of NextEra Energy, a Juno Beach based utility (FP&L) and producer of renewable energy. He is also on the Board of The RAND Corporation (a Santa Monica-based think tank), and several Pittsburgh not-for-profits (e.g., Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust). He and his wife, Gabriela, reside along with their two daughters, on Everglades Island in Palm Beach.
