Alicia Cannon Mullen is a Principal at Washing Pond Ventures, which focuses on growing technology-enabled companies through either internal incubation or external investment. As a long-time digital project manager, Alicia is currently focused on Aprium, an AI-enhanced intelligent productivity platform that enables numerous other applications. Alicia is a founding board member of The Nantucket Project, an annual invitation-only thought leadership conference, which held its inaugural event in 2011. She is also a board member of Brave New Software, which created the government-funded Lantern platform that provides internet access to the censored world. She was an advisor to Beme, a social media platform, which was acquired by CNN and also founded the award winning Clustered Apps.

Her past positions include Senior Vice President/CIO of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and CIO/CTO of First Options of Chicago (acquired by SLK/Goldman Sachs.) During her earlier career, Alicia was selected as one of the Top Women in Computing by McGraw-Hill, the former publishers of BusinessWeek, for her role in pioneering wireless handheld technology on the professional trading floors.

Alicia obtained her B.A. in Computer Science from Boston University while playing on the Varsity Tennis Team – she currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the university. Alicia is also active in supporting the promotion of public art and was a past president and board member of Chicago’s Redmoon and she plans to launch a new public art initiative in 2021. She currently serves as a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem for Palm Beach County and co-leads the Mullen Family Foundation which supports a broad array of education initiatives.

Alicia, a Chicago native, moved to Palm Beach in 2015 with her husband Tim. She has a daughter at Oxbridge Academy and four grown children.
