The Palm Beach Civic Association has started a new initiative in two-way communication by creating a Facebook page to promote discussion about important issues in Town.

We would like you to participate!

Facebook is a free social networking service and if you aren't a member yet, it's easy to sign up.

If you would like to participate, please follow the instructions below or reply to this email (mikebrown@palmbeachcivic.org) and I'll send a Facebook invitation to your email address.

When you click on the link below, Facebook will ask for your Name, Email Address, a Password you make up, and sex and birthday.

After you sign up, you will get your own Facebook page.  There are a number of options for your page. You can post a profile about yourself, join the network in Palm Beach, invite friends to connect with you, upload photos for others to see, and connect with the Palm Beach Civic Association Facebook page.

To connect with us, use the search box in the upper right corner of your page and type in "Palm Beach Civic Association".

Click on the link to "View Page" and you've found us.

You can connect with us by clicking on "Become a Fan" under the beach photo in the upper left corner.

To weigh in on the issues, click the "Discussions" tab at the top.

These discussions are intended for and written by citizens who live and/or work in the Town of Palm Beach and want to highlight issues the community faces. They are solely responsible for the posts on this site, which are not edited by the Civic Association.

We have discussions setup about the following topics:
- Shore Protection
- Water Quality, Conservation, and Use
- Healthcare
- Royal Poinciana Business District
- Royal Poinciana Plaza
- Royal Poinciana Playhouse/Theater
- Public Safety
- Worth Avenue Improvement Project
- Town Finance and Taxation
- Port of Palm Beach and Inlet
- Town Beautification
- Flagler Memorial Bridge Rebuilding
- Civic Association
- Miscellaneous

We value thoughtful comments representing a range of views that make their point quickly and politely. We follow the same standards for taste as most daily newspapers. A few things we won't tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, profanity (including expletives and letters followed by dashes), commercial promotion, impersonations, incoherence and SHOUTING.

Discussion Topics are moderated and generally will be left up if they are on-topic and not abusive. The Civic Association reserves the right to include or remove any comment for any reason and/or to block a user from participating in the Palm Beach Civic Association Facebook page for violating the Site Information and Use Statement posted in the "Notes" section. We do not accept anonymous comments. We have found that people who use their names carry on more engaging, respectful conversations. However, we recommend against using your full e-mail address for security reasons.

We look forward to interacting with you and seeing what you have to say!

If you have question, please don't hesitate to call the Palm Beach Civic Association Office: 561-655-0820
