Inland Port and Port of Palm Beach News

A report was just released from the State of Florida concerning the Future Land Use Amendments to the Palm Beach County Comprehensive Plan. In that report, the Florida Department of Community Affairs, Division of Community Planning, objected that there wasn't a complete justification of need for an Inland Port in the western part of the county.

Cruise Ship at Port of Palm Beach Having Bankruptcy Problems

According to the Palm Beach Post, the new owners of the Palm Beach Princess is having difficulty raising the $500,000 security deposit required to operate out of the Port of Palm Beach. The cruise ship is the second biggest tenant, behind Tropical Shipping. The Princess has a $185,000-a-year lease.

Town Council Opposes Port Feasibility Study

The council told Port of Palm Beach officials that it cannot support their estimated $2 million feasibility study to deepen and expand the Lake Worth Inlet and Intracoastal to accommodate larger and fully loaded ships.
