PACKED HOUSE FOR CIVIC ASSOCIATION OIL SPILL SYMPOSIUM

The Civic Association Oil Symposium had a packed conference room as concerned residents, town officials, and State Representatives gathered to discuss the plan to protect the 12 miles of beaches and Intracoastal in Palm Beach.

Town Councilwoman Gail Coniglio presented the overall potential impact and plan for the town and county.  Emergency Operations Coordinator Mike Galvin showed the plan details.

CIVIC ASSOCIATION SHORE PROTECTION FORUM: "THERE ARE NO SIMPLE ANSWERS"

The Civic Association Community Forum on Shore Protection today answered many questions that residents have about beach erosion. But as Llwyd Ecclestone, Town Shore Protection Board Chairman said, "Unfortunately, because of regulatory agencies like the US Army Corp of Engineers and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and many others, there are no simple answers."
